Senior Content Officer, Arc Learning

About the Department

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Division

The Curriculum and Teaching Practice Division (CTPD) is responsible for developing and supporting schools to implement the department's teaching and learning policies and providing curriculum implementation guidance to Victorian government schools.

CTPD draws on contemporary research and practice evidence to develop evidence-based teaching and learning policy reforms, co-design and implement initiatives to support schools to deliver high-quality teaching programs. CTPD has primary responsibility for providing advice and implementation support to government schools to deliver the Victorian Curriculum.

CTPD has three branches:

1. Teaching and Learning
2. Literacy, Languages, the Arts and Humanities
3. Numeracy, STEM and Digital Learning.

Across these branches, the key functions include:

* developing and communicating policies and guidance in areas such as curriculum planning, pedagogy, assessment and reporting, curriculum implementation (including languages education, Holocaust education, literacy instruction, mathematics and numeracy education), and artificial intelligence
* developing lesson plans and other classroom teaching and learning resources to support the implementation of departmental pedagogical settings and F-10 curriculum
* designing and delivering high-quality professional learning to build teachers' professional expertise in key pedagogical and curriculum areas
* developing and managing the Arc platform and implementing high-quality teaching and learning software

About the Role

The Senior Content Officer, Arc Learning, is responsible for delivering expert content management support for the Department's Arc platform. The successful applicant will:

* Facilitate the development of high-quality, curriculum-aligned content across the Arc platform, with a focus on content for Arc Learning.
* Train and support content owners to develop accessible, search engine-optimised (SEO) content that meets Victorian Government digital standards.
* Develop a content and communications schedule aligned with priority projects.
* Collaborate as part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team, contributing to shared deliverables.
* Foster knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.

This is a full-time, fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2026.

Attributes

The ideal candidate will have:

* Demonstrated experience in content management, digital content creation, and online platform management.
* A collaborative approach with the ability to influence and engage multiple stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge of web accessibility, user-centred design, and SEO best practices.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

* Experience working within government and/or education sector contexts.
* Familiarity with Victorian Government digital standards and publishing platforms.
