We're on the lookout for a commercially minded and proactive Business Development & Marketing Advisor to join our Sydney office.This role plays a key part in driving the implementation of the firm's National Business Development (BD) and Marketing Plan while also supporting the strategic growth of our Sydney practice.
Working closely with partners and senior lawyers, you will develop and execute BD and marketing initiatives that enhance client engagement, brand visibility and business growth.What you'll be doing:Partnering directly with Sydney-based Partners and senior lawyers to support their business development goals and client growth strategiesLeading the planning and execution of client events—setting the strategy, managing logistics, and ensuring exceptional deliveryDriving tailored BD initiatives across key sectors and practice groups, with a focus on cross-selling and client relationship developmentCollaborating with the People & Development team in Sydney to deliver the firm's PLATFORM & ELEVATE event seriesActing as the key contact for Sydney-based sponsorships—managing relationships, ROI tracking, and activationPreparing client and market insights, fee reports, and other commercial analysis to inform strategic decisionsSupporting the development of legal directory submissions and contributing to award nominationsManaging Sydney-related marketing content on the firm's website and intranet, and contributing to firm-wide social media and e-marketing campaignsContributing to national marketing projects and initiatives as a member of the national BD & Marketing teamHelping maintain and enhance the firm's CRM and marketing platforms, supporting effective client engagement and communicationsWhat we're looking for:Proven experience in business development and/or marketing—ideally within a professional services or legal environmentStrong event planning and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects from concept to deliveryA confident communicator who can engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including Partners and senior leadersCommercially minded with the ability to interpret and use data to guide decisions and measure impactHighly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines with easeA team player with a collaborative mindset and a proactive, solutions-focused approach to challengesTech-savvy and comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.The teamThe national Business Development & Marketing team is a small, dynamic and high-performing team, led by the Director of Business Development & Marketing from our Brisbane office.
