The Role
We are seeking an experienced Spray Sealing Foreperson to lead a spray sealing crew in Darwin, NT. While the position is based at our Darwin Depot, constant travel will be required to all parts of the Northern Territory. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in road surfacing and remote working environments.
This role reports into the Spray Sealing Supervisor and you will be responsible for crew and subcontractor onsite management.
Key responsibilities & requirements:
* Supervise spray sealing projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute road surfacing operations efficiently.
* Lead and mentor the team, fostering a positive work environment.
* Interpret spray seal designs, specifications, and implement best practices.
* Ensure safety protocols and OH&S compliance on-site.
* Manage resources, procurement, equipment mobilization, and labour allocation.
* Work closely with civil construction engineers, spray sealing designers, and subcontractors.
* Assist with ad hoc surfacing equipment operation due to crew constraints.
Experience & Qualifications:
* 6+ years in spray sealing and/or asphalt laying and 2+ years in a site management role in spray sealing.
* HR Heavy Vehicle Licence is essential, HC Heavy Vehicle Licence preferred.
* Cert III or IV in Civil Construction (Preferred) or equivalent trade qualification.
* First Aid & CPR Certification – Advantageous.
* Traffic Control & Management certification will be required.
* Construction Induction (White) Card certification.
