Our client is a leading hedge fund based in Sydney, known for its dynamic and fast-paced environment. We are looking for a talented Infrastructure Support Engineer to join the team. This role involves working onsite to support critical infrastructure and complex business applications tailored to the financial services industry.
As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of complex IT infrastructure, while being the subject matter expert for critical financial services applications. You will be the primary escalation point for any technical issues within the infrastructure and business applications, ensuring the smooth operation of IT services for the business.

* Duration : 6-month contract (with possible extension)
* Salary: $Competitive Day Rate
* Location: Sydney, Australia - On-site
Key Responsibilities:
* Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Design and implement IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring they meet the stringent performance, security, and scalability requirements of a hedge fund.
* Infrastructure Support: Provide top-tier support for all infrastructure issues, acting as the final escalation point for technical problems.
* Business Application Support: Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize line of business financial applications to ensure peak performance.
* Cloud & On-Premise Integration: Oversee the integration of cloud-based and on-prem infrastructure, particularly focusing on azure cloud technologies.
* Collaboration Tools : Manage and support collaboration tools such as Office 365 and MS Teams, including migrations and upgrades.
* Security & Compliance: Maintain high-security standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Demonstrated experience supporting infrastructure within a financial services environment, ideally hedge funds or investment banks.
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly in compute, network connectivity, and security.
* Proficient in managing and configuring Active Directory and Group Policy to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
* Hands-on experience with Office 365 administration and migration, including the use and support of MS Teams.
* Ability to support and optimize SQL databases used in line of business applications.
* Understanding of network security, firewalls, and connectivity within a cloud and on-prem hybrid environment.
