About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.
We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.
CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.
Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department
The human resource department is located at the Sale campus of CGH. The department provides a comprehensive human resource management function for the organization, its leadership team of over 60 managers and senior clinicians, and over 1200 staff.
About the Role
The role supports the Director Corporate Services with key relationships and focus on the Executive management team and the broader leadership team to develop and sustain a high performing positive culture, and in a manner consistent with CGH stated values. This includes undertaking a wide range of complex HR matters with a focus on improving talent management within CGH. The role provides advice and support on a broad range of HR related issues, including relevant legislation, leads effective planning, policy and procedure development and implementation in HR related matters. The GMHR supervises the HR department and related staff.
Duties
* Leadership of a team that delivers excellence in people and culture services to CGH.
* Undertake the development, management, analysis and evaluation of end-to-end functions across the areas of:
* Performance management, employee relations and Enterprise Bargaining;
* Learning and capability development for managers and non-clinical staff;
* Workplace health and safety/injury management and return to work;
* Organisational development, talent management, capacity building, workforce planning and succession planning;
* Staff attraction, recruitment and retention;
* Cultural Development, values, key behaviours and change management;
* Immigration processes for international employees;
* Personnel records and reporting;
* Support the legislative compliance framework and system, in particular with regard to relevant industrial/employee relations legislation;
* Manage HR projects and initiatives on behalf of CGH including collaborating with regional partners on regional projects and initiatives.
* Participate in nominated CGH governance committees and regional forums, preparing briefs and reports relevant to the HR portfolio.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Substantial and broad experience at a senior level in HR management
* Excellent understanding of management issues in complex organisations.
* Ability to demonstrate the CGH Leadership and Management Capabilities at a senior manager level.
* Ability to demonstrate technical capabilities associated with the role.
