The Chief Safety Officer role is a critical position that plays a vital part in shaping the safety of major infrastructure projects. As the chief safety officer, you will be part of a passionate team driving innovation, collaboration, and a strong safety culture across every level of delivery.
Main Responsibilities:
* Leading by Example: Champion the project's values and behaviours, with a proactive and visible commitment to safety.
* Strategic Partnership: Partner with stakeholders across all zones to coach, support and embed world-class WHS practices, systems, and procedures.
* Technical Expertise: Provide expert input to ensure all legal and contractual obligations are clearly identified, controlled, and communicated.
* Culture Development: Collaborate with the executive leadership team to design and deliver tailored programs and initiatives that drive continuous improvement and build safety capability across the project.
* System Maintenance: Maintain and strengthen the project's WHS management systems, policies, and plans.
* Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with internal leaders, contractors, and clients, ensuring alignment and consistency across the alliance.
* Investigation and Analysis: Lead and participate in high-level incident investigations and risk assessments, ensuring learnings are captured and shared.
* Data-Driven Insights: Analyse health and safety data to provide meaningful insights and drive performance improvements.
* Safety Culture Enhancement: Play a central role in driving a consistent, positive safety culture, where people are empowered to work safely and think proactively.
