Services Engineer – Market Management System Business Analyst
Join GE Vernova as a Services Engineer—Market Management System (MMS) Business Analyst. This role focuses on developing business requirements for MMS solutions that are large, complex, highly available systems requiring high security standards and updated software technologies.
Job Description Summary
The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of market system concepts and business processes. You will work closely with internal teams, external customers, and Solution Providers to enable project teams to deliver agreed business requirements and acceptance criteria (quality, volume, timeliness).
Essential Responsibilities
- Contribute to implementation of MMS solutions utilizing the Software Suite.
- Own technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop functional and non‑functional business requirements for MMS solutions.
- Collaborate and workshop with internal and external SMEs to develop business requirements and scopes of work.
- Create requirement traceability matrices to ensure agreed requirements are completed and tested.
- Translate business requirements into development “stories” with acceptance criteria for planning and build phases.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve ambiguities.
- Assess best practices and how your area integrates with others; stay aware of competitive differentiators.
- Propose alternate solutions outside of set parameters for complex processes.
- Apply technical experience and analytical thinking.
- Leverage internal and limited external sources to make decisions.
- Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
- Lead small low‑risk projects.
- Communicate performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a technical consultancy role within the electrical utility industry, especially with operational technologies such as MMS, EMS, DMS, or OMS solutions.
- Experience with energy and ancillary services markets (Day‑Ahead and Real‑time) is a plus.
- High level understanding of market systems from an OT standpoint.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
