About the Role
As a member of our nursing/midwifery team, you will assess individual patient needs and plan, implement, or coordinate appropriate care services. Your responsibilities will include providing health education, counselling, and rehabilitation programs aimed at improving health outcomes for patients and groups. You will also support and guide less experienced staff, including Enrolled Nurses and student nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver professional, patient-centred care in a variety of clinical settings.
* Assess patient needs and coordinate appropriate service delivery options.
* Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families.
* Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
* Support and mentor newer staff members in delivering basic nursing care.
Requirements
Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, along with a valid practicing certificate. Demonstrated competence in person-centred nursing/midwifery practice. Strong communication skills, including problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage competing priorities. A creative, innovative, and flexible approach to challenges within a rural healthcare setting.
