Contracts Performance & Compliance Officer
Mackay Regional Council is seeking a capable Contract Performance & Compliance Officer to support the effective management, performance, and compliance of building infrastructure service contracts. This position is permanent fulltime with a 9-day fortnight roster.
About this opportunity:
In this role you will play a vital role in ensuring contractors working on behalf of Mackay Regional Council (MRC) meet all contractual compliance obligations. Working within the Facilities & Open Spaces Program, you’ll manage contracts, monitor performance, and help deliver high-quality services to our community.
You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and service providers to identify risks, assess compliance, develop performance metrics, and support informed, data-driven decision-making across the facilities portfolio.
About You
You are a highly organised and analytical professional with experience in contract management, compliance, or procurement environments. You are comfortable working with complex information and enjoy turning data into meaningful insights that support sound decision-making.
You bring:
* Strong experience supporting contract compliance, performance monitoring, or governance frameworks
* Well-developed analytical skills, with experience creating reports, KPIs, or dashboards
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across diverse stakeholders
* A high level of attention to detail, particularly when managing risks, records, and compliance documentation
* Well-developed time-management skills, enabling you to manage priorities across multiple contracts
* You are adaptable, solution-driven, and confident navigating complex issues, with a commitment to continuous improvement and accountable service delivery.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
* Qualifications in Business, Contract Management, Procurement, Project Management, Law, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Practical experience supporting the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including compliance and performance monitoring
* Experience in procurement or tendering activities, including documentation and evaluation
* Experience analysing data and developing performance metrics or reports
* Current QLD “C” Class Driver Licence (or ability to transfer)
* Willingness to undertake a Criminal History Check
