The Position
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join the dynamic team in Geelong West. This is an excellent opportunity to take your taxation expertise to the next level. As a key member of the Taxation team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to a diverse client base.
The Role
Key responsibilities:
* Prepare and lodge complex individual, trust, partnership and company tax returns
* Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, identifying tax minimisation opportunities, dealing with Div 7A issues, CGT, FBT etc.
* Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other tax-related documents
* Liaise with clients, tax authorities and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance
* Mentor and support more junior members of the Taxation team
* Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and industry regulations
The Candidate
Desirable skills or qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience as a tax accountant, preferably in a public practice or boutique tax advisory firm
* Thorough understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations, including individual, trust, partnership and company tax
* Strong technical skills in tax planning, compliance and advisory services
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
