Billabong Flowers is a creative social enterprise program where participants work alongside staff to produce floral arrangements, creative products and seasonal items while developing practical workplace skills.
We are looking for a creative, supportive and enthusiastic Employment Officer to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a creative flair and is passionate about supporting individuals to learn new skills and participate in meaningful work.
The role
The Employment Officer (Billabong Flowers) supports people with disability to participate in a creative floristry program that builds confidence, independence and work skills.
You will work directly alongside participants to design and produce floral arrangements and creative products while supporting skill development and meaningful participation.
The role also contributes to the day to day operations of the Billabong Flowers social enterprise.
The successful applicant will ideally commence on 4 May 2026, with the position offered as a fixed term contract until 4 February 2027.
Key responsibilities
* Support participants and supported employees to develop floristry and creative work skills
* Facilitate engaging floristry and creative activities
* Encourage independence, teamwork and confidence
* Supervise and support participants during program activities
* Assist with the preparation, packaging and presentation of floral products
* Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive program environment
* Contribute to the day to day operations of the Billabong Flowers social enterprise
* Maintain participant records and program documentation
About you
You are a creative and supportive person who enjoys working with people and helping others develop skills and confidence.
You will bring:
* Experience supporting people with disability, or experience in community services
* Creative ability in floristry, arts, craft or design based activities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to facilitate group activities and teach practical skills
* Good organisation and time management skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Qualifications and requirements
* Current Victorian Driver Licence
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* National Police Check
* Working With Children Check
* Qualification or training in floristry, art or design (or related creative field)
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or similar
* Experience working in supported employment or social enterprise
* Experience as a florist or working in a floristry business
