Mechanic - Road Transport
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Mechanic to join our road transport team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, field servicing, fault finding, and repairs on a variety of equipment, including trucks, floats, and light vehicles.
Key Tasks:
1. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safe work practices, adhering to workshop rules and regulations at all times.
2. Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and team members daily, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
3. Service and maintain equipment within the plant and truck fleet, working efficiently within tight schedules while maintaining high standards.
4. Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment.
5. Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality parts and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
6. Take ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Hold at least 2 years of experience as a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
* Possess sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems.
* Have basic auto electrical knowledge.
* Be competent with computers and digital diagnostics tools.
