Overview
The AI Business Analyst will work within a multidisciplinary agile team to translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions. The role focuses on shaping ethical, transparent, and compliant AI features, ensuring strong governance, human oversight, and effective delivery.

* Location: Canberra (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
* Clearance: Baseline (Current)
* Full-time: $140K + Super
* Start Date: April 2026
Key Responsibilities
* Elicit, analyse and document business, data and AI requirements
* Translate requirements into epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria
* Define AI‐specific non‐functional requirements (transparency, privacy, robustness, security)
* Map processes to determine AI vs rule‐based approaches and define human‐in‐the‐loop controls
* Design evaluation frameworks including performance monitoring, drift and fairness tracking
* Collaborate with data scientists, engineers and product owners
* Lead workshops, discovery sessions and backlog refinement
* Develop test cases including A/B testing, shadow testing and rollback strategies
* Document model assumptions, guardrails and safety constraints
* Support governance processes including AI policy, privacy and risk assessments
* Assist with change management, communications and training for AI solutions
Key Skills & Experience
* 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst
* Experience delivering AI‐enabled or data‐driven solutions
* Exposure to Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, AI/ML, Copilot or automation tools)
* Strong understanding of responsible and secure AI practices
* Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
* Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
* Experience working in agile delivery environments
* Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps and Miro
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
