**The Role**
We are seeking skilled Capability Analysts to manage a high profile project that directly supports Defence's mission to defend Australia and its national interests. The Australian Government is dedicated to expediting the production of guided weapons within Australia. The Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) program, which is valued at billions of dollars, is a complex endeavor encompassing research and development, testing and evaluation, manufacturing, maintenance, repair, overhaul, storage and distribution, disposal, as well as education and training.
EL 1 Capability Analysts will use their excellent research, negotiation and presentation skills to oversee a team who determines requirements, reviews options and develops metrics to present for decision at a range of Committees, Program Boards and associated fora.

- Lead a team and support a team to achieve against Defence's priorities.
- Represent, advocate and negotiate on behalf of the organisation to achieve capability outcomes.
- Evaluate and provide high-level advice on capability proposals including assessments of the strategic context, capability options, resource implications, risks and acquisition strategies.
BDCP - The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA).

The multi-billion dollar guided weapons and explosive ordnance program is a complex undertaking requiring consideration of various elements including; research and development, test and evaluation, manufacturing, maintenance, repair, overhaul, storage and distribution, disposal, and education and training.
You will work in a diverse team consisting of Australian Defence Force members, Australian Public Servants, contractors to Defence and Industry Partners, analysing, designing and implementing innovative solutions to deliver Government's Guided Weapons production priority.
