Speech Pathologist Grade 2 Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Speech Pathologist Grade 2. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to provide high-quality patient care in our admitted services.
The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills within a hospital setting, with the ability to independently assess, plan, recommend, and implement a wide range of speech pathology services. They will be responsible for prioritizing and managing their workload, making clear decisions, and drawing on and supporting their team.
We are a well-staffed, experienced, and forward-thinking team that requires candidates with collaborative and supportive communication skills. As a Grade 2 speech pathologist, you will work alongside a large regional hospital with a broad range of patients, ensuring a varied and changeable caseload.
The ideal candidate will hold advanced clinical reasoning, have experience with quality improvement projects, relevant clinical experience, and be able to support more junior staff through clinical supervision. All team members receive clinical supervision in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing high-quality patient care in admitted services
* Independently assessing, planning, recommending, and implementing speech pathology services
* Prioritizing and managing workload, making clear decisions, and supporting team members
Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for Certified Practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia
* Experience in the management of adults with disorders of communication and swallowing within a hospital setting
* Videofluoroscopy competency highly regarded
* Paediatric dysphagia competency highly regarded
