The Opportunity
CSR are seeking an experienced and influential Workplace Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE) Business Partner to lead and elevate safety performance across our Interior Victorian operations. This role is critical in shaping a proactive safety culture, driving risk reduction strategies, and empowering leaders to deliver exceptional WHSE outcomes. In this high-impact, hands‐on role, you will partner directly with site leadership and production teams to drive a "Safety First" culture.
As a trusted advisor to operational teams, you'll partner closely with site leaders, frontline managers, and employees to build capability, enhance systems, and ensure full compliance with legislation and CSR standards across our Scoresby and Yarraville sites.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Culture
* Drive a strong safety leadership culture across all Victorian sites.
* Coach managers, frontline leaders, and operators to elevate safety behaviours and decision‐making.
* Champion CSR safety initiatives including Never Walk Past, Permit to Work, HIRAC, and risk management frameworks.
* Establish and maintain a safety culture aligned to CSR's WHSE Responsibilities & Authorities standard.
Risk, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
* Assess site safety performance, identify gaps, and implement targeted action plans.
* Lead the development and delivery of site‐specific risk reduction strategies to ensure compliance with WHSE legislation and CSR standards.
* Implement and embed CSR key risk programs, system standards, and hazard standards.
* Lead and monitor compliance with the National Self Insurance Audit tool.
* Drive continuous improvement through efficient processes, systems, and methodologies.
Incident & Contractor Management
* Lead the incident management process, ensuring root causes and system failures are identified and addressed.
* Partner with site management to carry out thorough investigations and ensure timely closeout of actions.
* Drive excellence in contractor WHSE performance and coach site teams in effective contractor management.
Leadership & Governance
* Chair and lead WHSE Committees across both Victorian sites.
* Lead the VIC WHSE team to achieve Safety, Sustainability, and Environmental performance targets.
* Lead the Return‐to‐Work (RTW) programs and coordinate with insurers and medical providers to support injured workers.
About You
* Demonstrated experience delivering Health, Safety & Environment outcomes—ideally within manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or a similar operational environment.
* Experience in an industrialised workforce is advantageous.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, influence, and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven ability to interpret standards, navigate change, and support others through WHSE challenges.
* Confidence contributing to strategy, implementing systems, and driving compliance to high standards.
* A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for lifting performance and enabling safer ways of working.
