Purpose of the Role
We're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to support the day-to-day operations of a major Perth healthcare facility. This role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to jump in wherever needed - from general repairs to assisting the Maintenance Manager with administrative or coordination tasks.
You'll help maintain safe, efficient, and comfortable facilities that allow staff and patients to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform general maintenance tasks, including painting, minor repairs, and building upkeep.
* Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across multiple areas of the facility.
* Plan and manage your daily workload, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
* Support subcontractors and contractors on site to maintain service quality.
* Assist with reporting, administration, and backfilling the Maintenance Manager when required.
* Ensure compliance with all operational, regulatory, and safety requirements.
Education, Experience & Skills
* Practical maintenance experience in a facility, healthcare, or commercial environment.
* Hands‐on skills across building, electrical, mechanical, or general repair tasks.
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks independently.
* Confident communicator and team player.
* Experience in safety‐conscious environments (healthcare experience is a plus).
* Some experience in a supervisory or coordination support role.
* Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance reporting systems.
* Knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
