The position is based at our Pimlico campus working predominantly within our Cardiothoracic theatre. This will be offered as a permanent full-time opportunity working 38 hours a week. Flexibility is required as you will be required to fulfil all components of a rotating roster including weekends and on-call.The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and pediatrics with a variety of surgical specialties. MPHT boasts brand new state-of-the-art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.Our Perioperative Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide mentorship and guidance to assist in the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, supporting the Nurse Manager in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the Clinical Stream and assist with skill development.Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of careDemonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding careSupporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirementsMaintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growthAbout youCurrent AHPRA registration as RNExperience working with Cardiothoracic patientsMinimum of 3-5 years Scrub-Scout experienceStrong knowledge of ACORN and NSQHS StandardsA strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater ValuesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsMater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.We are a leader in healthcare, education and research - and that's because we employ exceptional people.
