Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program 2026


West Gippsland Healthcare Group – Warragul, Victoria

Registered Midwife / Nurse Grade 2

12-month Fixed Term | Commencing January 2026 | 32 hours per week

West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is now accepting an application for our 2026 Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program. Based at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, our program offers a supportive, challenging, and rewarding experience for graduates.

Available Stream

* Nursing Stream (Includes 3 rotations across areas such as Emergency, Medical, Surgical, Day Surgery, Community Nursing, Aged Care, and Rehabilitation)

Eligibility Criteria

As per PMCV Computer Match guidelines, applicants must be:

* A Victorian-trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident), or
* A current Victorian resident – Distance Education Nursing/Midwifery Graduate, or
* An Australian Interstate or New Zealand-trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)

You must also:

* Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
* Not have previously participated in a Graduate Nurse or Midwifery Program
* Have completed your Nursing and/or Midwifery degree in the January–December 2024 or 2025 academic year (depending on stream)

Vaccination Requirement

Current Influenza and other mandatory vaccinations (if required for role) as per government requirements, unless a valid exemption applies. Evidence must be provided prior to commencement.

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a NDIS worker screening clearance and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
