About Food Ladder
Food Ladder is an award-winning Australian not-for-profit revolutionising how we tackle food
insecurity in schools. We are defining a new category: a world-leading network of AI-connected,
experiential, nourishing classrooms. Combining modular greenhouses with AI-powered learning
tools, Food Ladder equips schools with everything they need to grow food, boost wellbeing, and
transform their outcomes.
Our full-stack solution addresses multiple critical problems: hungry, disengaged students;
overwhelmed, time-poor teachers, and rising food insecurity. Through technology and hands-on
learning, we save teachers hours per week, boost attendance by up to 60%, and help children
feel grounded, capable, and nourished.
Now scaling nationally and globally, we're undertaking a bold digital transformation. With world-class
partners, we're building an AI platform that makes this system measurable, scalable, and teacher-first.
We're seeking a Head of Product & Technology to lead this transformation — and help us
reach 1,000 schools by 2030.
The Opportunity
As Food Ladder's Head of Product & Technology, you'll take the lead on designing, building, and
delivering our integrated digital ecosystem — spanning CRM, AI tools, data dashboards, teacher
interfaces, and greenhouse sensor tech.
This is a hands-on product and platform leadership role. You'll work closely with the CEO and
global partners to execute our multi-phase tech roadmap. You'll also lead vendor management,
technical architecture, platform optimisation, and internal capability-building — always with the end
user (teachers, students, communities) front and centre.
It's an extraordinary opportunity to build a category-defining product that fuses AgTech, EdTech
and AI, and brings real-world, measurable benefits to schools.
What We're Looking For

* Strong technical acumen in system architecture, data platforms, and secure integration
* Experience with CRM and BI tools
* Ability to prioritise and deliver with limited resources, balancing vision and execution
* Exceptional communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Track record of building platforms that people actually use — teacher-first, friction-free
* Demonstrated success navigating organisational change and growing internal capability
Desirable Attributes
* Experience in education, sustainability, or tech-for-good environments
* Familiarity with education data (e.g. ICSEA, MySchool, NAPLAN)
* Understanding of inclusive design and CALD/First Nations engagement
* Curiosity for emerging tech (e.g. quantum, immersive AI, carbon tracking)
* Passion for building systems that scale with integrity
What We Offer
* A career-defining opportunity to lead a world-first digital platform that educates the whole child
* Deep collaboration with global leaders in AI
* A values-driven, hard-working team with flexibility, autonomy, and purpose
* Direct, tangible impact on thousands of students, teachers, and communities
* National scale, international reach, and a legacy of meaningful change
