About the Role
The Gordon is on an exciting bold new era of data, AI and digital transformation, and we are searching for a talented Data Engineer ready to elevate our data ecosystem and bring innovative, secure and scalable solutions to life.
Reporting to the AI and Data Governance Lead, you will design and maintain the data pipelines, integrations and infrastructure powering analytics, reporting and emerging AI capability. You will use your technical expertise to strengthen data quality, reliability and accessibility while contributing to projects shaping the next generation of student and organisational success.

Some key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
* Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and high-quality data pipelines and integrations powering analytics, reporting and AI across The Gordon.
* Modernise the data environment through automation, reusable components and strong engineering practices aligned with governance, privacy and security standards.
* Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues and lead swift resolution of data incidents to keep systems reliable and accessible.
* Build and maintain enterprise semantic models, including certified Power BI datasets, supporting accurate, trusted and user-friendly reporting.
* Support lifecycle management, documentation and certification of trusted datasets used for analytics and AI, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
* Collaborate with internal teams to translate requirements into secure, scalable and supportable data solutions while championing data literacy across the organisation.

About You:
Are you a collaborative problem solver with strong technical capability and a passion for building systems which work reliably, securely and at scale?

Your communication skills help you work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, and you bring curiosity and ownership to every challenge.
Additional skills we need from you to be a great fit for this new and exciting role:
* Strong experience designing data pipelines, ETL processes and system integrations in complex environments
* Solid understanding of data governance, privacy and security requirements
* Experience with platforms like Snowflake or Alteryx or similar industry tools
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence supporting others to use data effectively

Salary Range:
PACCT 8 | $109,738.00 - $115,581.00 + Superannuation (Pro Rata)
