We're seeking an accomplished data scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Data team, you'll drive the adoption of data-driven decision making across our organization and help shape the future of data science.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and computer science, with experience in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R). You'll also possess excellent communication skills and be able to tailor your message for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Immerse yourself in Xero's data, wrangling complex and messy data to contribute to our shared understanding of its value.

2. Apply sound scientific methods to drive product development, including hypothesis generation, experimentation, and analysis.

3. Lead in hypothesis-driven experimentation and deliver measurable impact through holdouts.
">
4. Work to achieve and maintain high personal coding standards, collaborating with other scientists and engineers to produce robust and reproducible code.

5. Maintain and operate end-to-end pipelines that support data-intensive applications at Xero.

What You'll Bring With You:

* Previous practical experience in a similar analytics role.
">
* Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).

* Bachelor's, Masters, or Ph.D in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field; or equivalent practical experience.

* Ability to grasp mathematical concepts underpinning various domains.

* Strong communication skills and ability to tailor messages for peers and stakeholders.
