The team
The Legal Operations Team is responsible for directing and supporting business management and support services for the Legal Services Group (LSG). This team works closely with Legal Services Senior Executives and Senior Managers to deliver integrated and timely central management services and to ensure these services are delivered in line with ASIC wide priorities.
The role
As a Legal Operations Officer, you will manage legal expenditure and drive cost efficiencies, streamline and automate legal processes for improved operations, analyse legal data to support performance tracking and strategic decisions, support project management and implementation of LSG-wide initiatives, and enhance knowledge sharing and deliver targeted training across the Legal Services Group.

About You
This role requires strong technical capabilities in legal operations, including experience with process mapping, workflow optimization, legal technology tools, and data analysis to support strategic decision-making. Equally important are excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills, along with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and build effective relationships across teams in a fast-paced environment.
You Will Also Demonstrate
* Tertiary qualifications in Law or a related discipline (preferred).
* Strong understanding of legal procedures and ability to provide effective administrative support.
* Experience mapping and improving legal processes to streamline workflows.
* Familiarity with process design and efficiency optimization techniques.
* Skilled in facilitating workshops, gathering business requirements, and driving process improvements.
* Proven ability to analyze data, apply strategic thinking, and present insights.
* Excellent communication skills and experience supporting change initiatives.
* Proficiency with legal technology tools and the MS Office suite (including Power BI, Automate, Apps, and AI).
Additional Desirable Requirements
Experience with legal technology implementation, change management initiatives, and continuous improvement projects is highly regarded. A proactive approach to identifying and implementing innovative solutions, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development, will set you apart in this role.
