We're partnering with a major international insurance brokerage to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to join its high‐performing Office of the General Counsel team. The role is central to driving complex legal matters across the region, providing strategic advice to senior leaders on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues.
This includes preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts; supporting dispute resolution and litigation‐related activities; advising on tenders, employment issues, M&A work and emerging regulatory developments. The position also requires close collaboration with other specialised legal and compliance teams to ensure integrated, consistent, and effective support across all business units operating in the region.
About You
You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy balancing sharp commercial contracting work with investigative E&O exposure and cross‐border stakeholder engagement. We're looking for someone with:
* 7+ years' PQE
* Strong background in transactional contract work
* Experience in Errors & Omissions / Professional Indemnity, risk assessment, or preliminary dispute work
* Current practising certificate in at least one Australian jurisdiction, and this role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne
* Exceptional communication, judgment, and stakeholder management skills
Highly Advantageous
* Experience in the insurance broking sector
* Exposure to global corporate environments
* Experience advising across the Pacific region
* Understanding of financial services regulation

Our client offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three in‐office days required each week at either their Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne office. The role also comes with eligibility to earn a 20% performance bonus.
