About the Role
This is an office-based role in Canberra where you will be directly responsible for the management and leadership of the Accounts Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services across Australia. The role will:
* Oversee and manage financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance with all regulatory requirements (BAS, Tax returns).
* Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and improve business systems.
* Lead and mentor the accounts team, providing training, guidance, and support.
* Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to set KPIs, track progress, and update the leadership team.
* Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, and vendors, representing the organisation's financial interests in all dealings.

To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Australian Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
* CA, CPA, or NIA qualification.
* Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation laws (income tax, GST, FBT, capital gains).
* 5+ years' experience in a similar senior role in Australia.
* Proven track record of achievement with a proactive, high-performing mindset.
* Strong stakeholder relationship skills across all levels.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Real Estate knowledge desirable
* Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) (highly regarded but not essential).
