Amazon Web Services is seeking a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to support our public sector Enterprise Support customers. This role will be a valued member of the Enterprise Support team who leads our customer's to build and run their applications on the AWS platform. The position requires an Australian citizen who holds or is able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
Key Responsibilities
* TAMs work backwards from customers to define a support strategy, deliver expert advice on AWS services, assist with project launches and assist with operational issues.
* Engage at the account level, providing recommendations and proactive advice through all phases of the cloud adoption life cycle.
* Build solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for customers.
* Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity.
* Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges.
* Drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade‐offs and risk management using technical acumen and customer obsession.
* Consult with partners from developers to C‐suite executives.
* Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants and Sales Account Managers.
* Proactively identify opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
* Provide detailed reviews of service disruptions, metrics and pre‐launch planning.
* Provide post‐sales, consultative expertise as part of a wider Enterprise Support team.
* Resolve problems across different customers migrating workloads to the cloud.
* Uplift customer capabilities by running workshops and brown‐bag sessions.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
* Operational experience with two of the following: compute, storage, networking, CDN, databases, DevOps, big data, analytics, security or applications development in a distributed systems environment.
* Internal enterprise or external customer‐facing experience with ability to clearly articulate and present to small and large audiences.
* Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
* Experience as a technical lead in an internal enterprise or external customer‐facing environment.
* Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies.
* Understanding of technology budget management.
* Background working with public sector customers.
