Urgent Care ICU/CCU/Remote Nurses | Moonee Ponds | Casual
We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses with backgrounds in Intensive Care, Critical Care, Coronary Care, or Remote Nursing to join our Urgent Care Centre in Moonee Ponds. Urgent Care Centres provide fast, effective treatment in a community-based setting, offering an alternative to emergency departments for non-life-threatening conditions and supporting the broader healthcare system.
Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients on arrival to determine service suitability
- Deliver immediate front-line clinical care
- Contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced team environment focused on patient-centered outcomes
- Perform procedural work such as suturing and plastering
- Triaged patients requiring emergency escalation or urgent attention
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners
- Ensure patients achieve desired clinical outcomes
- Provide essential health education to patients
- Complete all documentation accurately and promptly
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability for the energetic Urgent Care environment
About You
- AHPRA Registered Nurse
- Must be available evenings and weekends
- Working with Children Check and National Police Check required
- Previous experience in triage within an emergency department preferred but not essential
- Experience in remote nursing, coronary care, critical care, ICU, or a minimum of 3 years in acute care settings
- 3 years’ experience as an RN preferred; ICU nursing experience welcomed
- Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and escalate appropriately
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a high level of critical thinking
- Ability to work autonomously and delegate when appropriate
- A personable approach and passion for helping people
