We are seeking an exceptional individual to join Colac Otway Shire Council as an Emergency Management Project Officer in a Temporary Part-Time (30.5 hours per week, flexible days/hours) Fixed Term capacity.
Location: Colac, Victoria.

Responsibilities
* Effectively deliver emergency management responsibilities established in legislation, state plans and policies including the State Emergency Management Plan, the Vulnerable Persons Register and Community Emergency Programs.
* Contribute to better prepared and more resilient communities.
* Embed emergency management capacity and capability as a core component of council business.
* Work collaboratively with communities and emergency service agencies to develop and deliver community resilience and emergency management outcomes.
* Build and strengthen the capacity of Council to deliver community and emergency management initiatives.
* Develop strong partnerships and networks that support innovation and enhance community resilience in the broader context of emergency management.
* Understand, interpret and apply latest research learnings into relevant aspects of emergency management planning, before, during and after emergencies.
