Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Pharmacist Team Leader to join our pharmacy team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist to lead our geriatric and medical specialties teams, providing clinical services while also providing strategic and operational leadership.
About the Role:
The Senior Pharmacist Team Leader will be responsible for guiding their team in implementing Medication Management directives, policies, procedures and guidelines. They will act as a key point of contact for clinicians and service units on pharmacy-related matters, optimising service outcomes through strong leadership, mentoring and support.
This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with other team leaders, contributing to the delivery of safe and cost-effective drug therapy, upholding Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) Standards of Practice and all relevant legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development, evaluation and teaching of workplace policies and procedures
* Manage a designated portfolio that supports broader departmental goals
* Undertake complex clinical and operational work within your area
* Cross-departmental support to maintain consistent, accountable and high-quality medication management across the service
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registration or eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
* Excellent written and verbal communication and public relations skills
* Ability to work independently under broad direction
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to analyse data, solve problems and manage change
* Proven capacity to lead service improvement
* Competence in leading, supervising, educating and supporting pharmacy and non-pharmacy staff
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive hospital pharmacy experience supported by leadership, supervisory or management experience within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Previous experience in geriatrics, general medicine and medical specialties will be advantageous.
