About the Role
As a key player in the RFDS team, the Payroll Officer ensures payroll is delivered with precision, care, and compliance. Keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With a focus on expert support, secure systems, and continuous improvement, this role is essential to fostering trust, satisfaction, and integrity across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Be the go-to for payroll queries, managing the Payroll Ticketing System and escalating complex issues with confidence.
* Keep employee records sharp and secure, updating roles, pay rates, allowances, and deductions with precision.
* Own the payroll cycle, ensuring timely, accurate processing and compliance with all relevant legislation and policies.
* Champion compliance and clarity, lodging statutory reports, supporting staff training, and maintaining robust documentation.
To Be Successful
* Relevant qualifications in payroll, accounting or finance, along with proven experience interpreting awards, agreements, and employment conditions related to salary, leave, and entitlements.
* Confidence in handling complex payroll matters, including salary packaging and compliance, with the ability to support and train others. Experience with Time & Attendance systems like Emplive is a bonus.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Driver's Licence, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
