The Role
We're seeking a Marine Surveyor to join our growing team in either a residential or FIFO capacity. This role suits someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, problem‑solving, and engaging directly with vessel crew, owners, and commercial operators. You will be responsible for vessel load planning and dynamic trimming to load maximum cargo.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft surveys
* Trimming surveys
* IMO compliance for bulk loading operations
* Liaise with clients, agents, vessel Masters
* Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, and documentation
* Contribute to internal process development and quality assurance
About You
* Experience as a Chief Officer / Master, Marine Surveyor or Marine Engineer
* Strong understanding of bulk vessel operations, systems, and regulatory frameworks
* Excellent written communication and report‑writing skills
* Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical, evidence‑based approach
* Ability to build rapport with clients and represent the company professionally
* Valid driver's license
* Australian work rights will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Desirable Qualifications
* Permanent resident
* Valid MSIC card
* Experience with commercial vessels having sailed as Chief Officer or Master
* Familiarity with digital reporting tools and structured documentation workflows
