**The company**:
Our client is a well-established proficient Geotechnical consultancy, with 4 Offices located across Australia comprising of 200 professionals. For over 20+ years they have provided specialised design and investigation services within various sectors which include mining, civil, infrastructure, tunnelling, and dams.

**About the Role**:
Seeking a skilled Hydrogeologist for a pivotal role in civil, mining, and water resources engineering projects. Your expertise in groundwater-related aspects will be instrumental in conducting hydrogeological site investigations, conceptual model development, and analysis. Leverage your proficiency in numerical modeling of groundwater and surface water systems to make a significant impact in our dynamic team. **The Ideal person will have**:

- Excellence in geology and hydrogeology, showcasing your expertise
- Proficiency in assessing and managing groundwater in tunnelling projects, including dewatering techniques, groundwater control measures, and ensuring safe tunnel construction
- Mastery in soil mechanics and rock mechanics in your specialized area
- Proficiency in numerical modeling & analysis and familiarity with relevant software
- Competence in engineering geology
- High-level expertise in field logging and a wide range of field activities
- Demonstrating good judgment and risk identification, understanding their impact
- Supporting, encouraging, and sharing skills with colleagues for mutual growth
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff for successful project outcomes
- Managing multiple projects concurrently, meeting objectives, timelines, and budgets
- Technical writing excellence, producing reports of high quality
- Maintaining client and project confidentiality while communicating honestly

**Responsibilities**:

- Undertaking field investigations and necessary travel as required for projects
- Designing, planning, coordinating, and managing field and office study programs
- Leading and supervising teams of hydrogeologists for successful project execution
- Reviewing, interpreting, and analysing all field and laboratory data meticulously
- Assessing the results of modeling studies with precision and expertise
- Developing hydrogeological models to exceptional standards
- Undertaking and managing analysis and reporting for investigations and studies
- Writing technical reports to the highest standard
- Creating project-specific design solutions as needed
- Reviewing reports of other staff when required
- Delivering work with unmatched accuracy and to the highest standards
- Excelling in managing multiple projects concurrently
- Completing work within project timeframes efficiently
- Maintaining sound financial management for projects under your care
- Building strong client relationships through effective communication
- Preparing proposals and securing projects with mínimal supervision

**Necessary Skills**:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Post graduate degree, equivalent to MEngSc
- A strong technical aptitude coupled with critical thinking skills, enabling you to analyse complex problems and devise effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills, both in an office-based setting and on-site, as you will collaborate with colleagues and interact with clients
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative
- Proficiency in English, ensuring clear and effective communication within the team and with stakeholders
