About the Role

As the Finance Officer – Banking, you’ll ensure the accuracy and integrity of Council’s banking operations. You’ll manage bank reconciliations, resolve transaction issues, and provide key banking support across the organisation, helping maintain strong financial controls and smooth day-to-day operations.

What You’ll deliver

* Accurate and timely bank reconciliations, ensuring all banking transactions are correctly recorded in the general ledger.
* Prompt investigation and resolution of reconciling items and banking discrepancies.
* Effective banking administration, including system access, EFTPOS management and support across Council sites.
* High-quality support and advice to internal stakeholders on banking, ledger adjustments and transaction enquiries.
* Strong compliance outcomes through accurate record keeping, audit-ready documentation and adherence to Council policies and controls.

What You’ll Bring

* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Business, with practical experience in bank reconciliations.
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial data and systems.
* Experience using financial systems, with TechnologyOne Ci Anywhere highly regarded, and confidence working with general ledger transactions.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve banking and reconciliation issues.
* A collaborative, customer-focused approach with clear communication skills and a commitment to integrity and compliance.
* Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
