Our client is a world-class performing arts organisation with a spectacular recent purpose-built venue on Sydney Harbour. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled sales professional to join the team as Head of Venue Sales. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strategic partnerships for our client's prestigious venue.
**The role**:
The Head of Venue Sales is responsible for developing and managing the commercial venue opportunities, relationships and systems for all event spaces at this iconic new venue. Reporting directly to the COO, this position is the key point of contact for all venue hire enquiries and for all internal departments with regard venue use and contracting.
- Develop a sales strategy and successfully contract a program of partners and hirers for the Venue to meet annual revenue targets;
- Manage the central venue booking system for all venue users as the central point of confirmation, contact and communication
- Prepare venue hire quotes and negotiate commercial contracts for Venue hire and activations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders to secure bookings and generate repeat business.
- Develop venue budgets and KPI’s for annual business planning processes
- Conducting market research to identify trends, competitor analysis, and customer preferences
- Collaborating with all departments and the executive team to define the company's brand positioning and messaging
- In conjunction with the Marketing Team, develop and maintain high-quality business development assets that showcase the Venue’s focus
- You will have past experience in a senior venue sales role within the corporate events/catering industry
- Proven track record of success in driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- You will be able to demonstrate experience in managing contracts
- You will have experience successfully preparing, managing and reporting on project budgets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels
- In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing principles and strategies
- A working knowledge of Workplace Health Safety (WHS)
- Strong influencing, advocacy, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
