Job Description:
Radiation therapists play a crucial role in the treatment of cancer patients. They work closely with medical oncologists and other healthcare professionals to plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments. The job requires a high level of technical skill, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and administer radiation therapy treatments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and treatment outcomes
- Provide education and support to patients and their families about radiation therapy and its effects
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA)
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a related field
- Proficiency in radiation therapy equipment and technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
