Our Head of Special Education Services plays a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of inclusive practices across our school.
The HOSES and Inclusive Practices Team contribute to the pursuit of increasing a sense of safety, connection and belonging at Nerang State School.
Sharing and mobilising targeted interventions and building staff capability in inclusive practices creates a staff of responsive practitioners who contribute to supporting our young people and drive effective adjustments into the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.

The Perfect Fit:
Experience in leading educational achievement through adjusted curriculum and pedagogy, or student engagement initiatives will be highly regarded.
Proven experience in form.ing collaborative relationships quickly with staff and families through meaningful instructional leadership, tailored capability building and will drive high expectations through inclusive practices implementation that is responsive to our learners and their needs.
Essential qualities include strong instructional leadership, proven ability to build positive relationships, and a commitment to inclusive and evidence-inform.ed practice.
