Tim National is a wholesale, nation wide importer and distributor of impulse lines encompassing toys, soft toys/plush and other general merchandise lines to a wide variety of accounts Australia wide. Based at Notting Hill and reporting to the Managing Director and National Sales Manager, this Sales Manager & Operations role encompasses a wide range of duties with a key focus on sales as required by the business and as dictated by the sales period, time of year and company goals:
The Role is as follows:
Learning all the Sales Team Duties & Direct to Wholesale Sale roles (both in our day to day sales and also Wholesale/Direct Business) which would encompass going out with the sales team and learning the roles and understanding what we do, how we do it and why we do it and also our customer base.
Following this the Role encompasses the following:
Sales Strategy and Planning
With the Head Office develop Sales Strategies to grow sales in the key sales channels
Target Market Segmentation: Understand and segment the customer base (independent supermarket operators, convenience stores, etc.) to tailor marketing and sales strategies effectively.
Marketing Strategy and Execution
Brand Positioning: Establish and promote the brand's identity in the marketplace, includeing messaging tailored to the independent retail sector.
Content Creation: Create engaging content that communicates product benefits, case studies, or customer success stories.
Relationship Management
Client Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with independent supermarket owners, convenience store operators.
Account Management: Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring their needs are met.
Customer Insights: Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to tailor marketing and sales efforts more effectively.
Training and Support: Educate independent operators about product features, benefits, and effective in-store displays to maximize product visibility and sales.
Product Positioning: Help position products to appeal to the independent retailers by emphasizing their unique value propositions, whether it's price, quality, convenience, or other key selling points.
Category Management: Work with category managers to ensure that products are appropriately stocked, displayed, and marketed for maximum sales.
Sales and Marketing Reporting
KPI Tracking and Analysis: Regularly track sales performance metrics (KPIs).
Reporting: Provide detailed reports on sales growth, market trends, and marketing campaign performance.
Event and Trade Show Participation
Event Planning: Organize or attend trade shows, industry conferences, or retail networking events to promote the brand, meet new customers.
The role would also necessitate taking on some operational aspects as needed – Why – our operations are closely linked to sales so there is cross over of sales v operations. For example, this may encompass;
* Overseeing changes in how our sales team supply stores to ensure greater sale leverage to reduce cost per sales achieved whilst growing sale
* assisting with the recruiting and training of sales staff
* assisting the team with Store account receivable collections as a Mature voice
* other items as required.
As we are a National Company, whilst the role is based in our Notting Hill office, the role will encompass intrastate overnight travel assisting the sales team and visiting customers as well as interstate travel.
The above would require face to face, telephone and also email contact so strong presentation and interpersonal skills are required as well as excellent written and personal English skills.
It is expected the above role would be 20 to 30% office based with the balance in the field meeting the above.
