The Client: Narreteck Communication is a leading provider of advanced telecommunications solutions, specializing in offering innovative and reliable telecommunications services. They now seeking a skilled and qualified Telecommunications Technical Officer to join their team in Narre Warren South in VIC on a full time basis. The Role: This is for a full time position with an annual salary between $75,000 to $80,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. The role will be based in Narre Warren South in VIC. The Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and maintain customer access telecommunications network infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and alignment with emerging technologies. Install, maintain, and diagnose various telecommunications equipment and devices, ensuring proper functionality from exchange to modem and adherence to technical specifications. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot telecommunications network systems, integrating technology with computer hardware, software, and peripherals to optimize performance, resolve issues, and ensure seamless operation with timely updates and enhancements. Provide Tier 2 technical support on the NBNCo network by handling network incidents and managing change requests to ensure timely resolution of technical issues. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to manage contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), performance standards, and project requirements. Test and maintain network technologies, including enclosures and equipment, in accordance with Telstra and NBNCo guidelines, while documenting results for compliance and quality assurance. Develop strategies for network expansion, upgrades, and preventive maintenance by incorporating future growth and market needs. Maintain accurate logs of equipment, parts, and inventories, and document policies and quality standards to ensure compliance and traceability. Liaise with clients to provide technical advice on network infrastructure, keeping them informed of progress and potential improvements. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all network operations, promoting safe work practices and minimizing risks associated with telecommunications infrastructure. The Requirements: At least an Advanced Diploma qualification in Telecommunications or a related field At least 12 months relevant experience in the industry in a professional setting At least 12 months' experience working on DC power systems, radio base stations, and telecommunication systems At least 12 months' experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunications networks At least 12 months' experience with mobile networks (LTE, 5G in particular), satellite communications, and microwave links At least 12 months' experience in using network analysers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and other diagnostic tools Familiarity with automation and scripting languages (Python and PowerShell) for network configuration and monitoring Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform on-site analysis and resolution of technical problems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with maintaining detailed logs and documentation of inventories, parts, equipment, and instruments, as well as communication policies and procedures Ability to liaise effectively with vendors, suppliers, service providers, and external resources to monitor contractual obligations and performance delivery
