Lifestyle Assistant - Jemalong Residential Village, Forbes
Location: Forbes, NSW
Casual position with Catholic Healthcare. Not-for-profit employer with the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and lifestyle of residents at Jemalong Residential Village.
Responsibilities
* Encouraging resident choice and participation in individual and group activities
* Assisting in the design, delivery and monitoring of group and individual lifestyle services and activities
* Implementing innovative events and lifestyle activities for residents and where possible involving the wider community, volunteers and residents' family and friends
* Provide direct resident care during activities such as bus trips, including assisting with personal hygiene and toileting
* Provide direct resident care in relation to meals service, mobility and social support
* Supporting peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
* Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures
What we require
* A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
* Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
* Certificate III or Cert IV in Leisure and Health or Individual Support or similar
* Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
* A reliable team player
* Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents
* Willingness to apply for a Police Check and NDIS clearance
