Job Title: Patient Billing Assistant
We are seeking a skilled and experienced billing professional to join our team as a Patient Billing Assistant. As a Patient Billing Assistant, you will be responsible for handling patient billing inquiries, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. You will also have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and be proficient in using various software systems.
As a Patient Billing Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients and patients, providing exceptional customer service and building effective relationships. Your responsibilities will include liaising with patients, medical consultants, and external organizations, undertaking inbound and outbound calls, meeting with patients at the hospital, identifying patients that need to be visited, and prioritizing hospital visits.
Additionally, you will be responsible for following up and collecting outstanding debt from health funds, other third-party insurers, insurance companies, WorkCover, and patients according to the Debt Management Policy. You will also work with a variety of software's and systems, including Microsoft Excel and Collect, assist with the resolution of account queries for patients and Health funds, investigate and manage reasons for arrears, including financial hardship, and ensure all contractual requirements, Privacy, and ACCC/ASIC Debt Collection Guidelines are adhered to.
