We are seeking experienced and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our team in Kalkallo, Victoria 3064. This role involves providing high‑quality in‑home support to participants, including personal care, self‑care assistance, domestic tasks, community access, and complex care needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person‑centred support within the participant's home.
* Assist with personal and self‑care tasks including showering, toileting, dressing, grooming, and hygiene support.
* Support complex care requirements such as: nursing care and management (nursing experience required), catheter care and management, and manual handling tasks.
* Perform meal preparation, medication administration, and feeding assistance as needed.
* Support participants with challenging behaviours and behaviour‑related needs, following behaviour support plans.
* Assist in building life skills and promoting independence.
* Provide transport to appointments, shopping, and community activities.
* Complete accurate documentation, progress notes, and communicate updates to the Allocations Team.
* Follow participant care plans, NDIS frameworks, and organisational procedures.
* Participate in care‑team meetings and continuous improvement processes.
About You
* You are a fast learner, work well independently, and are committed to providing respectful, person‑centred care.
* Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
* Can commit to stable, ongoing and flexible hours.
* Confident using basic technology (Microsoft Teams, email, mobile apps).
* Can use their personal mobile phone for shift information and communication.
* Strong experience supporting self‑care needs and managing behaviour issues .
Mandatory Requirements
* Valid Right to Work in Australia
* Minimum 1 year experience as a Support Worker
* Minimum 1 year nursing background
* Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Disability, or similar
* Experience with complex care: bowel care, catheter care, diabetes management, and manual handling (certifications highly regarded)
* Experience working in a SIL environment with complex behaviours and behaviour challenges
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* First Aid (HLTAID011 or HLTAID012) & CPR (HLTAID009)
* Infection & Medication Management training/certification
