Offer description

Join an organisation that achieves real outcomes for children, young people and their families.

At OzChild we are on a journey to discover and apply new approaches and best practices to achieve better outcomes for vulnerable Australians through the programs and services we deliver. This is achieved through collaboration. We provide solutions that improve outcomes for our clients. Our approach is strategic and agile as well as being systemic and forward‐thinking.

As the organisation aims to strengthen our impact through evidence‐based programs, the OzChild leadership team has committed to developing, training and evolving our people as enablers to achieving our strategic objective to grow and disrupt the sector.

At OzChild, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe, connected, and thriving within their family and community. We are seeking a passionate and skilled FFT‐CW Therapist to join our dedicated team in Edgeworth and help create lasting change for children, young people, and families.

About the Program

Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT‐CW) is an evidence‐based, family‐focused intervention designed to support families involved with child protection services. FFT‐CW works intensively with families in their homes and communities to build strengths, improve relationships, enhance safety, and prevent children from entering or re‐entering out‐of‐home care.

As an FFT‐CW Therapist, you will work directly with families experiencing complex challenges, delivering therapeutic interventions that support sustainable family change and improved outcomes for children.

Your role

* Deliver FFT‐CW interventions to children, young people, and families in their homes and communities.
* Engage and motivate families to participate in therapeutic change processes.
* Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans aligned with the FFT‐CW model.
* Collaborate with Child Protection, schools, community services, and other key stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and program documentation.
* Participate in regular supervision, consultation, and fidelity monitoring.
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.

What a successful candidate looks like

You are passionate about supporting vulnerable children and families and have the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds with empathy, respect, and professionalism.

To be successful, you will have:

* A degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Social Science, Human Services, or a related discipline.
* Experience working with children, young people, and families facing complex challenges.
* Strong therapeutic engagement and communication skills.
* The ability to work independently while remaining connected to a supportive team.
* Experience in child and family welfare, child protection, family preservation, or related services.
* A current driver's licence and willingness to undertake outreach work.

What We Offer

* Salary packaging 15,900 plus 2,650 meals and entertainment.
* Comprehensive FFT‐CW training and ongoing professional development.
* A supportive and values‐driven organisational culture.
* The opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and families.
