Role Overview
Thales Australia's Trade Compliance function has an entry level position and is seeking an enthusiastic individual with interest and background in international trade. We are looking for recent graduates that have a keen desire to learn and develop knowledge and skills on the matters of import and export customs compliance, export and broader trade control regimes, namely Australian and U.S. export laws, and on application of economic sanctions and other global trade regulations.
The Trade Compliance Analyst (TCA) will be integral to the function's objective in developing, improving and implementing the compliance program. They will also assist in development of recommendations and guidance to business operations by advising on international trade and customs requirements, while supporting businesses in their delivery of solutions to customers.

Responsibilities
* Support trade compliance programs to ensure adherence to global trade regulations
* Conduct research on export controls, customs regulations and international trade laws
* Assist with export classifications, customs tariff codes and licensing requirements
* Prepare and manage import/export compliance documentation and records
* Monitor compliance systems and support internal audits and spot checks
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to resolve compliance issues and support regulatory inquiries
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in international trade compliance, international business, international relations or other related disciplines
* Experience interpreting government policies, regulations and compliance requirements
* Understanding of international trade laws, export controls and customs processes
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
* Proficiency in MS Office and eagerness to learn
Security Clearance
A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. Additional information regarding clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) applies and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
