Full time position is available for a Cook in Palm Cove, QLD 4879.
SKILLS
The role requires you to hold a Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or a Certificate IV and at least 12 months relevant experience. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Cook, your main responsibilities will involve preparing and cooking a variety of dishes from the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Additionally, the Cook is responsible for receiving and checking food orders, maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen and monitoring food quality and safety standards.
POSITION DUTIES
* Preparation and cooking of dishes on the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
* Regulate temperature and use of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
* Prepare dishes to meet dietary requirements.
* Prepare dishes ready for service including portioning food, plating dishes and adding garnishes and sauces.
* Know and adhere to proper handling procedures for food, equipment and utensils.
* Stocktake/rotation and delivery receiving.
* Monitor food storage and temperature control.
* Clean and maintain your working space, storage areas, equipment and utensils.
* Be aware of and adhere to Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Ensure the kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
* Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards.
* Have efficient and thorough knowledge of menu items.
* Have the ability to train other kitchen staff where necessary.
* Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communications.

SALARY
$65,000 - $75,000 per annum based on experience.
