Lifestyle Wardrobes is seeking qualified CABINET MAKERS/ CARPENTERS/ JOINERS, who are passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and responsible with a strong, work ethic and self-motivated with demonstrated skill set in the cabinet and carpentry industry.
We are looking for full-time installers with experience in on-site installation of sliding robe doors, kitchen and wardrobe internals. The ideal candidates should be skilled, detail-oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team, and have strong communication skills for client interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read technical drawings and plans to decide project details and materials.
* Collaborate with clients or design teams to create custom designs that meet project needs and look good.
* Choose and gather the right wood, hardware, and materials for each project.
* Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
* Build and assemble cabinets, furniture, and frameworks according to the project plans.
* Use joinery techniques like dovetail, mortise, and tenon to connect and secure parts.
* Install finished cabinets, fixtures, and furniture on-site, ensuring they fit correctly and are stable.
* Apply finishes like sanding, staining, or painting to improve appearance and durability.
* Repair damaged woodwork, cabinetry, or furniture as needed, often using creative solutions.
* Maintain tools and equipment regularly to keep them safe and working well.
* Check work throughout to ensure it meets design, quality, and safety standards.
* Follow safety guidelines, use protective gear, and keep the workspace clean and organised.
* Work with other tradespeople or team members to stay on schedule.
* Communicate progress, issues, and solutions clearly with clients and team members.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
* Skilled at reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
* Accurate with measurements, cuts, and fittings.
* Knowledgeable in joinery methods such as dovetail, mortise, tenon, and other carpentry techniques.
* Proficient in handling hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines like saws, sanders, and routers.
* Capable of troubleshooting and creatively solving challenges on the job.
* Physically fit for lifting, standing, and hands-on work, with strong hand-eye coordination.
* Effective in managing time and meeting deadlines.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team, with clear communication for collaborating with clients and colleagues.
* Dedicated to following safety guidelines and maintaining a safe work environment.
* Skilled in finishing processes like sanding, staining, varnishing, and painting to ensure a high-quality final product.
Experience Requirements
As a minimum requirement you will need;
* Trade Certificate in cabinetmaking
* Minimum 3 (three) years previous experience
* Current driver's license
* Construction 'White Card'
