About the Roles
You'll contribute to the planning and execution of strategic, multi-channel campaigns targeting broad national audiences. Activities include :
APS6 Senior Communications Officer
* Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based communication strategies and campaign activities.
* Create and edit high-quality content for a range of channels.
* Manage complex timelines, budgets, and procurement processes.
* Oversee external supplier deliverables and ensure compliance with approval processes.
* Prepare campaign submissions and reporting.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate across teams.
* Lead and mentor junior staff.
Essential: Strong government campaign process experience to hit the ground running.
APS5 Communications Officer
* Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies and campaign activities.
* Draft, review, and edit content for multiple channels with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Coordinate campaign activities to ensure consistency and alignment with objectives.
* Support procurement processes and monitor supplier deliverables.
* Contribute to reporting and approval processes.
* Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
* Apply problem-solving skills to support campaign delivery.
* Maintain accurate records and file management.
Essential: Solid government communications experience; high attention to detail.
What We're Looking For
* Strong writing and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experience creating content for diverse audiences across multiple channels.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
* Understanding of government campaign processes (essential for APS6; desirable for APS5).
* Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a baseline clearance.
