The Opportunity
As a valued member of our Roadside & Drainage team, you'll lead and coordinate the delivery of road and drainage construction, maintenance and associated infrastructure work across Port Stephens. With a focus on safety, quality and efficiency, you'll guide a team of Council and contract staff to deliver civil projects that support our growing community.
* This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity – working 38 hours per week with access to flexible working arrangements.
* Base Salary Range: $73,236 - $86,085 pa based on 38 hours + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance.
* You will be working from Council's Depot, Raymond Terrace.

* Lead, coach and mentor a Roadside & Drainage team to deliver safe, high-quality projects.
* Plan, supervise and deliver road, drainage and related civil works within agreed budgets and timeframes.
* Ensure compliance with Council's safety, quality and environmental systems.
* Manage resources effectively, including staff, contractors, plant and materials.
* Support continuous improvement and positive engagement with staff and the community.
We're all about putting the right people, in the right role Here's what we're looking for:
* A Certificate IV in Local Government (Operational Work) or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in civil construction and maintenance (roads, drainage, footpaths, cycleways).
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
* Proven ability to interpret plans and specifications, manage projects and maintain accurate records.
* Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and delivering quality outcomes for the community.
