Business Manager Role

The Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Manager to undertake key financial operations, administrative supervision and commercial advisory duties.

* Developing comprehensive budgetary frameworks and managing financial transactions, procurement, contracting and revenue management.
* Supervising the administrative operations team, overseeing youth participation and customer engagement strategies.
* Conducting market research and analysis to inform strategic commercial decisions, including costing new program initiatives and modelling commercial fee structures.
* Contributing to business development by creating policies, procedures, decision briefs and other business documents.
* Providing expert commercial and financial advice, ensuring legislative compliance.
* Administering special accounts and trust monies, including fundraising and regulatory adherence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

* A good understanding of relevant legislative frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply this knowledge and provide expert advice.
* Supervisory experience in a business operations or program delivery environment, able to develop work plans, assign resources, manage performance and prioritise activities to meet deadlines and organisational goals.
* Proactive and collaborative team player with demonstrated initiative and judgement.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Sound skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
* Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* High-level customer service skills and experience using customer relationship management and record-keeping systems.

Key Requirements Include Holding or Being Able to Obtain a NSW Working with Children Check within Six Months of Commencement and Obtaining and Maintaining a Security Clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
