JOIN THE TEAM Successfully established and well-known Indian Restaurants based in Melton are seeking a Qualified Head Chef specializing in North & South Indian cuisines. You will have the required level of skills and knowledge for preparing, cooking, and finishing complex made-to-order, using fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods. To qualify for the selection, you must have the following minimum requirements: -
* Follow pre-established standards and procedures to prepare and cook food in a logical sequence to produce high-quality, efficient, and profitable meals.
* Order food and other supplies to ensure efficient operation.
* Recruit and hire staff, including cooks and other kitchen workers.
* Use appropriate methods to preserve food. Monitor shelf life and rotate stock to prevent spoilage.
* Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labor, and overhead costs.
* Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
* Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account factors such as the seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
* Manage and facilitate a safe workplace in accordance with company guidelines.
* Provide appropriate training to all staff on all kitchen equipment.
* Report all hazards to the Manager and proactively monitor the workplace for potential hazards.
* Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
