About the Role
Leading independent girls' school, Camberwell Girls Grammar, presents an opportunity for two Laboratory Technicians to join our team on a full-time or part-time (0.64FTE) basis, commencing in Term 1, 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to support high‑quality science learning in a forward‑thinking school committed to academic excellence, wellbeing and innovation.
Role
Reporting into the Head of Science, the Laboratory Technician plays a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging and safe science programs for students in Years 7-12. Working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, you will:
* Prepare and maintain lab equipment and supplies
* Assist teachers with experiments and trial experiments prior to class
* Ensure the safety, cleanliness, compliance and risk assessment processes are followed for the laboratory
* Manage ordering, stock control and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and
* Complete and update risk assessments and safety documentation to ensure compliance

You are a proactive, organised and detail‑driven professional who enjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. You communicate clearly, build strong working relationships, and take pride in producing high‑quality work that supports teachers and enhances the student learning experience.
You Will Have
* Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or higher
* Experience in laboratory environments — school experience highly regarded
* Strong understanding of laboratory processes, equipment and safety procedures
* Chemistry experience preferred
* Experience with Risk Assessment Software and Experience with PASCO Scientific Sensors (desirable)
* Current Working with Children Check
* Current Criminal Record Check
